is a material with one or more dimensions in the nanoscale.

is the medical application of nanotechnology. Medical nanoparticles are man-made devices, employed in three areas of clinical relevanse; diagnostics including imaging, targeted drug delivery and controlled release, and regenerative medicine

Quantum Dots
are fluorescent semiconductor nanocrystals in the nanoscale in all three dimensions, whose properties is are betweene those of bulk semiconductors and diskrete molekyles. Due to their small size they can emit light with a specific wavelength that is limited by quantum confinement and determined by particle size and composition. Quantum dots are mainly used in medical imaging for localization of specific cells.
