The objective of this work package is to validate the findings of the alternative in vitro assessment of the toxicological profile of nanoparticles used in diagnostics or therapeutics, as planned by WP2, by experiments on animals. The in vivo toxicity can be roughly estimated from data gained by in vitro work and the WP3 will use information about in vitro toxicity data acquired by WP2. The actual state-of-art does not provide information about standard procedures used at testing nanoparticles, therefore most information gained from in vivo experiments will be new.
